WHAt to do for Labor Day Weekend
As a tribute to American workers and a last hoorah of the summer season, WHA is here to help you figure out WHAt to do for Labor Day Weekend!
The US Department of Labor formerly describes Labor Day as a national holiday “… dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”
Whether you are working from an office building, a home office, or currently job hunting, take this opportunity to reflect on all the hard work you’ve put in this year!
WHAt are you going to do with your Monday off?
WHAtever you decide, here are some fun ideas for a happy and healthy Labor Day celebration:
- Backyard BBQ – Nothing says summer quite like a barbecue. Grill up some hamburgers and hot dogs or try new recipes like side dishes and baked goodies.
- Friendly family competition – Whether it’s a water balloon fight, or a corn hole match, this is a great way to spend time outdoors and partake in some friendly competition.
- Outdoor theater – Turn your backyard into an open-air movie theater with a sheet, projector, some string lights, and comfortable seating.
- Round of Golf – Go golfing for the day and enjoy some exercise walking the course in the sunshine.
- Water fun – Enjoy a dip in the pool, run through the sprinklers or set up a slip’n slide to stay cool and make a splash. If your local beaches are open, consider taking a beach day, but don’t forget the sunscreen!
- Online sales – Take advantage of marked down prices and end-of-season sales on those shoes you’ve had your eye on or an appliance that needs replacing. Specific deals include buying mattresses, furniture, TVs/electronics, clothing and gear.
Have a great weekend everyone… and wear a mask!
