WHAt’s Up in SoCal
2024 has been a whirlwind of creativity and progress across all four of our WHA offices. Our architects, planners, and designers have been pushing the boundaries, working closely with clients and consultants to bring projects to life through each stage of planning, design, and construction. A special shout-out goes to our Orange County office, which secured an impressive FIVE approvals in just THREE days! This is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of everyone involved. As these projects move into the next phase of development, let’s take a moment to celebrate and explore what our OC team has in store.
August 19
Tilden by Tri Pointe Homes received approval from the City of Ontario Design Review Board, with a recommendation for approval at Planning Commission. This exciting project will introduce a 6-plex row townhome community, featuring American Traditional and Transitional Farmhouse architecture. Set on a 7.56-acre site, Tilden will offer 120 residences with four distinct floor plans, ranging from 1,710 to 2,144 square feet. Each home will include three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, two-car garages, and lofts. With a density of 15.9 homes per acre, Tilden is poised to bring much-needed housing to the area, enhancing the community and providing a charming place for residents to call home.

Our collaboration with Lewis Management Corporation resulted in unanimous approval for The Resort at North of 6th from the City of Rancho Cucamonga Design Review Committee, along with a recommendation for approval at the Planning Commission. This neighborhood of row townhomes, set on 4.9 acres, will feature 99 homes, each extending over 2,244 square feet. With a density of 20.2 homes per acre, this project is well-positioned to become a vibrant part of the community. We’re eager to move forward and bring these beautifully designed homes to life!
August 21
1845 Oak Road by City Ventures received 5-0 approval from the Simi Valley Planning Commission! This development will span 3.61 acres, achieving a density of 19.39 homes per acre. The Spanish-style townhomes, featuring 70 units ranging from 725 to 1,710 square feet, will seamlessly integrate into the community, offering buyers a serene and picturesque setting to call home.
The Meadows at Falloncrest II in Chino also received unanimous approval at Planning Commission. The community, developed by Tri Pointe Homes, will include 4 distinct products divided into two villages, aimed to attract a broad range of buyers. The north village will include Row Townhomes, Duplexes and Triplexes exuding Transitional Farmhouse, Santa Barbara, Traditional, and Colonia Monterey exteriors. Meanwhile, the Courtyard Townhomes and Row Townhomes in the south village will feature Spanish Colonial, Adaptive Spanish, Spanish Andalusian, Craftsman, and Monterey architecture. With a total of 516 homes spread across 25.23 acres and a density of 20.5 homes per acre, The Meadows promises to be a dynamic and diverse community, offering a variety of designs and recreational spaces for future residents to enjoy.
Finally, Altair in Temecula, a collaboration with Brookfield Residential, received unanimous approval at Planning Commission. This master-planned community will be divided into three villages, each featuring open spaces and a mix of 2-3 story single-family and multifamily residences designed to appeal to a broad range of buyers. The 356 homes will showcase a blend of Modern Farmhouse, Progressive Agrarian, Abstract Traditional, and Contemporary Provincial architecture, creating a cohesive neighborhood aesthetic that will seamlessly integrate into the surrounding area.
