Flipping our calendars to a new year, we always anticipate innovative and exciting design trends to emerge. Shedding the woes of the past year, we persevere beyond its setbacks and step ahead with bolder creativity – few places reflect this shift more than our personal spaces. Expect 2023 to bring statement making individualism.

Mixing Eras: Old Is New                                                                       

The pendulum is swinging back towards traditional design. After years of restrained minimalism – classic and vintage details mixed with a modern 2023 iteration speak to our craving for comfort. The duality of old and new – layering past and present eras, creates visual interest that is rich and storied. Consumers are stepping away from coordinated spaces and matching furniture sets – finding empowerment in creating their own personal style.

Recent material trend influences are derived from sustainable natural elements. The appreciation of craftsmanship with raw/handmade accents grows stronger. Imperfect textured materials add natural charm and dimension, hinting at a deeper desire to connect with earth. Warm wood finishes are more loved than ever reflected in flooring and kitchen cabinetry, creating soft nature-like comfort. Statement stone is also making impact with dramatic veining and unexpected color variations, adding sophistication and artistry.
