Step Inside Cannery Club
The gated community of Twin Oaks in Hollister, CA, will be home to 168 single-family residences with compact rear yards. Due to the constraints of the lots, it was important to the Annotti Ranch, LLC team to offer an amenity-packed clubhouse for the residents to enjoy.
After owning the land for 20 years, Annotti Ranch engaged WHA to redesign the Twin Oaks amenity site in 2019. Our team designed Cannery Club, a clubhouse catered to the 55+ active adult community of Twin Oaks. WHA met with the project team, including Blue Star, Ripley Design Group, and Mark Garcia, the contractor, to develop the site plan and building concept design which remained consistent throughout the entire development process.
Reflective of the area’s agricultural roots and history, the clubhouse features elements of the packing and cannery buildings that once occupied the site. Corrugated metal siding and pitched metal roofing form an industrial/agrarian architectural style along with stone details around the entrance, which adds warmth to the front elevation. Two large, heritage oak trees frame the building on each side, inspiring the community’s name, Twin Oaks.
The Cannery Club cultivates an environment for social stimulation, overall wellness, and everyday activity. A variety of spaces are provided throughout the design, with an emphasis on indoor/outdoor activities. Vaulted ceilings and walls of glass provide seamless zoning, creating multiple spaces for gathering. Approximately 14,600 square feet of landscape and amenities include a clubhouse, pool, bocce courts, pickleball courts, a spacious fitness room, movement studio, outdoor yoga area, a covered loggia with outdoor seating, and even a dog-washing station.
Members of our Northern California team attended the recent grand opening of Cannery Club in July. Live music set the tone for the event as attendees stepped inside to see the amenity space for the first time. As the night progressed, the building came to life with residents exploring the amenities they now have, allowing them to dance the night away. Enjoy Cannery Club, Twin Oaks residents!
