Construction is moving right along for WHA’s Aloft Hotel project for developer Zenique Hotels. The hotel will provide cleverly named amenities aimed to serve today’s tech-savvy business traveler, including flexible Tactic conference rooms, Recharge fitness room, WXYZ bar, Refuel snack bar, Re-Mix social lounge, workspaces, a stage area for musical performances, and pool. The Aloft Hotel is focused on style and furnishings that will attract younger travelers who appreciate refined design. The exterior of the building will utilize high-end finishes including Alpolic Aluminum Panels, Prodema Wood Panels, glass panels, and integrated LED lighting. The furniture for the Aloft Hotel brand was developed in collaboration with Design Within Reach to create a high-quality, and cohesive overall design aesthetic. The building will be crowned with the Aloft Hotel brand’s signature ‘Swoof’ roof feature that is clad in multi-colored metal and includes architectural lighting.
The hotel is a part of the recently approved Grafton Plaza Specific Plan, which was developed by WHA’s Urban Studio. The Specific Plan creates an urban hub with the Aloft Hotel, 115 residential townhomes, and 50,000 square feet of retail space. WHA designed the hotel and generated the Construction Documents to comply with Starwood Hotel and Resorts Worldwide’s specifications for Aloft Hotels. WHA is currently providing Construction Administration services for the building.
The Aloft Hotel broke ground on April 18, 2017, and is scheduled to open in June 2018. The building is currently framed up to the roof. Next time you’re visiting Dublin, use some of those Starwood Preferred Guest rewards points you racked up and book a room at the Aloft Hotel.
