Love and Architecture
What’s it like working in the same industry as your significant other?
– Being married to an architect is no easy task, but we understand each other and what we do for a living.
– We understand why it is there are late night or weekend hours spent at work to meet a deadline.
– Sometimes when we are out and about we will notice something isn’t ADA compliant or not detailed properly, and we just get it.
– Dinner conversation topics usually include Revit standards or new building code changes, that is, if we make it through a conversation without our kids interrupting us.
– Family outings involve “nerding out”, touring new product types or taking photos of interesting architecture, all the while telling our kids, “Don’t touch anything!”.
– We debate about what makes good design, massing, material and color application, window placement, etc.
– We both have strong design opinions and can almost never agree on anything, so it makes only perfect sense that I’m always right!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
