Career Day – Pittsburg High School
WHA was honored to take place in Career day for Pittsburg High School in Northern California. Mitu Walia, Senior Planner at our San Ramon office and Education Outreach Committee Chair for the PWB, worked diligently with Junior Achievement Northern California to set up this all-day In-class Career Day for over 70 students. The purpose of this educational committee is to inform students about career choices in the building industry and encourage them to take an active role in bettering their surroundings. Through increased awareness and education, these children are able to learn about the importance of the building industry, the global economy and how it positively impacts the lives of others. The event was a success and was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and the Contra Costa Times.
Mitu is active part of the Bay Area Professional Women in Building (PWB), which offers females and males the opportunity to network and discuss the home building industry in a positive atmosphere through the support of various community organizations.
Make sure to be on the look out for these awesome women!
