Triada at the Station District Wins Project of the Year
WHA’s Urban Studio, led by Senior Principal Rick Aiken, along with The Related Company and The City of Santa Ana have been recognized for Triada Court and Triada Gardens at The Station District.
They have recently been honored with Project of the Year Award for Large Development at the 31st Annual Affordable Housing Awards, hosted by the Orange County Community Housing Corporation, the Kennedy Commission and Affordable Housing Clearinghouse.
The project is located on a collection of previously vacant city-owned sites in the City of Santa Ana. WHA and team developed these sites to create Triada at the Station District. The project has brought a cohesive sense of quality development to the area. As an affordable housing project, Triada at the Station District is available to families earning 30% to 50% of the area median income.
Triada Court consists of 74 apartments on a podium and Triada Gardens offers a total of 25 affordable on-grade town homes on two different lots. The project design elements include open courtyard spaces, grand staircases and street-level plazas with a public art feature that connects with the surrounding neighborhood. The Community Building at Triada Court creates an anchor at the center of the Station District. The design incorporates on-site property management offices, computer lab and multi-purpose rooms. Residential amenities include a seating area with an outdoor fireplace, BBQs, tot lot and common laundry facilities. In response to a major community need, a childcare facility is also provided at Triada Court. In addition, the project integrates 1,250 s.f. of retail space at the ground floor, which activates the street and pedestrian activity.
